SBC and members of the Syrian community meet MP Jim McMahon
in Manchester
Syrian British Consortium, along with a representative of Al-Ameen Organisation, and a representative of Syrians awaiting decisions on their settlement applications met with Jim McMahon MP, Minister for Housing and Communities, on the sidelines of the Community Britain Conference organised by the Co-operative Party in Manchester.
The delegation raised concerns about delays in decisions on settlement applications submitted by Syrians in the UK.
The delegation also handed the Minister a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, along with a detailed briefing outlining the impact of the delays on applicants and their families.
Minister Jim McMahon committed to looking into the issue and following up with representatives of the Syrian community.

يلتقون النائب جيم ماكماهون في مانشستر
التقى وفدٌ ضم ممثلةً عن المجلس السوري البريطاني، وممثلًا عن منظمة الأمين، وممثلًا عن السوريين الذين ينتظرون البت في طلبات الإقامة الدائمة، بالسيد جيم ماكماهون، وزير الإسكان والمجتمعات، وذلك على هامش مؤتمر Community Britain الذي نظمه حزب Co-operative Party في مانشستر.
وتم عرض قضية التأخير في البت بطلبات الإقامة الدائمة المقدمة من السوريين في المملكة المتحدة، كما تم تسليم الوزير رسالة موجهة إلى رئيس الوزراء، إلى جانب إحاطة تفصيلية توضح تداعيات هذا التأخير على المتقدمين وعائلاتهم.
من جانبه، وعد الوزير جيم ماكماهون ببحث القضية ومتابعتها، وإعادة التواصل مع ممثلي الجالية بشأنها.
