Statement of Condemnation of the Israeli Aggression Against Syria

Date: March 25, 2025

The Syrian British Consortium condemn the ongoing Israeli military escalation against Syrian territory, which has reached a dangerous peak today with the targeting of civilian areas, the latest being an attack that claimed the lives of five civilians in the border village of Qoya in the city of Daraa. This continuous aggression, with over 380 airstrikes recorded since last December, constitutes a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a clear breach of international agreements, particularly following Israel’s unilateral decision to annul the 1974 agreement under the pretext of a “security vacuum.”

These Israeli attacks are nothing but provocative acts targeting innocent civilians, posing a grave threat to security and stability not only in Syria but across the region. Moreover, they exacerbate Syria’s already dire humanitarian crisis, where millions are suffering under devastating conditions caused by a prolonged conflict.

In light of these developments, the Syrian British Consortium calls on the British government to take a firm and unequivocal stance in condemning these assaults and exert pressure to halt Israel’s continuous aggression. Such hostile actions seek to seize more Syrian territory, hinder Syria’s reconstruction efforts and endanger regional security. Silence or complacency in the face of these violations does not serve peace but rather deepens the crisis and prolongs the suffering of the Syrian people.
