SBC Consultative Meeting with General Assembly Members
The Syrian British Consortium held a consultative meeting with members of the General Assembly, during which it reviewed the key achievements of the first quarter of 2026 and the work plan for the coming period.
The meeting covered SBC’s political efforts, including the issuance of statements on developments in Syria, the preparation of a parliamentary briefing to support debate within the United Kingdom, and meetings with Members of Parliament to follow up on issues relating to Syrian refugees. Ongoing work on the Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) matter was also highlighted, through advocacy efforts and support for those affected.
The Consortium presented its media presence through a number of interviews addressing the Syrian President’s visit to UK, alongside work on developing internal governance and establishing specialist committees to strengthen institutional performance.
The meeting saw positive engagement and valuable contributions from members in support of advancing SBC’s work in the period ahead.

تناول اللقاء الجهود السياسية للمجلس، بما في ذلك إصدار بيانات حول التطورات في سوريا وإعداد موجز برلماني لدعم النقاش داخل المملكة المتحدة، إضافة إلى اللقاءات مع أعضاء في البرلمان البريطاني لمتابعة قضايا اللاجئين السوريين. كما تم تسليط الضوء على العمل المستمر في ملف الإقامة الدائمة (ILR) من خلال جهود المناصرة ودعم المتضررين
واستعرض المجلس حضوره الإعلامي عبر عدد من المقابلات التي تناولت زيارة الرئيس السوري إلى بريطانيا، إلى جانب العمل على تطوير الحوكمة الداخلية وإنشاء لجان متخصصة لتعزيز الأداء المؤسسي. وشهد اللقاء تفاعلاً إيجابياً ومداخلات قيّمة من الأعضاء دعماً لتطوير عمل المجلس في المرحلة القادمة
