Statement by the Syrian British Consortium on the SDF’s Attack Against Aleppo

The Syrian British Consortium (SBC) strongly condemns the attacks carried out on Monday evening by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Aleppo, which resulted in the deaths of three civilians, left fifteen others wounded, including two children and two members of the Syrian Civil Defence, and forced families to flee their homes.

We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to all those affected by this violence. We further welcome the cessation of fighting announced by both parties on Monday evening and hope that this will be followed by dialogue in good faith.

After years of indiscriminate attacks against civilians and civilian areas, which came to symbolise the Assad regime era, a post-Assad Syria must be built on the absolute sanctity of civilian life. Any actions that put civilians at risk or which target civilians are unequivocally rejected.

SBC further reaffirms its commitment to Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. In this context, we call on the SDF to fully and immediately implement the March agreement, including the peaceful integration of its forces into state institutions, and to refrain from any actions that undermine stability or national unity.

بيان صادر عن المجلس السوري البريطاني بشأن هجوم قوات سوريا الديمقراطية على حلب

يدين المجلس السوري البريطاني بشدة الهجمات التي نفذتها قوات سوريا الديمقراطية (SDF) في مدينة حلب مساء الاثنين، والتي أسفرت عن مقتل ثلاثة مدنيين، وإصابة خمسة عشر آخرين بجروح، من بينهم طفلان وعضوان من الدفاع المدني السوري، كما أجبرت عائلات على الفرار من منازلها. ويتقدم المجلس بأحرّ التعازي إلى عائلات الضحايا وجميع المتضررين من هذا العنف

كما نرحب بوقف القتال الذي أعلنه الطرفان مساء يوم أمس، ونعرب عن أملنا في أن يتبعه حوارٌ بنية حسنة.
فبعد سنوات من الهجمات العشوائية ضد المدنيين والمناطق المدنية، والتي باتت رمزًا لحقبة نظام الأسد، لا بد أن تُبنى سوريا ما بعد الأسد على قدسية الحياة المدنية المطلقة. إن أي أعمال تعرّض المدنيين للخطر أو تستهدفهم تُرفض رفضًا قاطعا

ويؤكد المجلس السوري البريطاني مجددًا على الالتزام بسيادة سوريا ووحدتها وسلامة أراضيها. وفي هذا السياق، ندعو قوات سوريا الديمقراطية إلى التنفيذ الكامل والفوري لاتفاق آذار/مارس، بما في ذلك الاندماج السلمي لقواتها في مؤسسات الدولة، والامتناع عن أي إجراءات من شأنها تقويض الاستقرار أو الوحدة الوطنية
