Election of a New Board of Directors for the Syrian British Consortium
Following the fall of the Assad regime last year, the Syrian British Consortium (SBC) opened membership to its General Assembly in a move aimed at broadening engagement in Syrian political affairs in both the United Kingdom and Syria. Membership applications have been accepted since April, and membership remains open to all those wishing to join.
Between October and December, the electoral process was launched to elect the first Board of Directors composed of elected members. Seventeen candidates stood for election to the Board, and the results were officially announced on December 5, resulting in the addition of five new members from the General Assembly to the Board of Directors.
On December 6, the first meeting of the General Assembly was held in Manchester. The meeting provided a space for direct interaction between members of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, as well as an exchange of ideas on the overall framework of the SBC’s work in the coming phase, mechanisms for reaching diverse segments of the Syrian community in the UK, and strengthening the SBC’s capacity to effectively convey their voices across all spectrums.
At its fi At its first meeting, the newly elected Board of Directors appointed Dr Yasmine Nahlawi as Chairperson of the SBC and Dr Fadel Moghrabi as Vice Chair.
Today, we extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all former members of the Board of Directors who, over many years, contributed to supporting and advancing the SBC’s work. We wish the new Board of Directors every success in leading the SBC and reaffirm its commitment to striving for the establishment of a democratic, free, and just Syria.

انتخاب مجلس إدارة جديد للمجلس السوري البريطاني
بعد سقوط نظام الأسد العام الماضي، فتح المجلس السوري البريطاني باب الانتساب إلى الهيئة العامة،في خطوة تهدف إلى توسيع دائرة الانخراط في الشأن السياسي السوري في كل من بريطانيا وسوريا.وقد بدأ استقبال طلبات العضوية اعتباراً من شهر أبريل الماضي وسيبقى باب العضوية مفتوحاً لمن أحب
وبين شهري اوكتوبر وديسمبر، انطلقت العملية الانتخابية لانتخاب أول مجلس إدارة يضم أعضاء منتخبين. حيث ترشّح 17 مرشّحاً ومرشّحة لعضوية مجلس الإدارة، وتم الإعلان رسميًا عن النتائج في الخامس من ديسمبر حيث انضم خمسة أعضاء جدد من الهيئة العامة إلى مجلس الإدارة
وفي السادس من ديسمبر، تم عقد الاجتماع الأول للهيئة العامة في مركز الجالية السورية في مانشستر، حيث شكّل اللقاء مساحةً للتعارف المباشر بين أعضاء الهيئة العامة وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة، وتبادل الأفكار حول الإطار العام لعمل المجلس في المرحلة المقبلة، وسبل الوصول إلى مختلف شرائح السوريين في بريطانيا وتعزيز القدرة على إيصال صوتهم بمختلف أطيافهم
وفي جلسته الأولى، قام مجلس الإدارة الجديد بانتخاب الدكتورة ياسمين نحلاوي رئيساً للمجلس ، والدكتور فاضل مغربي نائباً للرئيس
واليوم، نتوجّه بجزيل الشكر والتقدير إلى جميع أعضاء مجلس الإدارة السابق الذين ساهموا على مدى سنوات في دعم عمل المجلس، ونتمنى التوفيق لمجلس الإدارة الجديد في قيادة المجلس والتزامه بالسعي نحو بناء سوريا ديمقراطية وحرّة وعادلة
