The Syrian British Consortium Condemns Repeated Israeli Attacks on Syrian Territory
The Syrian British Consortium strongly condemns the ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Syrian territory, which constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s national sovereignty and pose a serious threat to the lives of civilians, while further destabilising an already fragile region.
Since the fall of the Assad regime in December, Israel has carried out over 1,000 airstrikes on various locations across Syrian territory. The most recent occurred on Friday, May 2nd, targeting Damascus, Daraa, and Hama, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to several others. Despite these repeated violations of Syrian sovereignty, not once has Syria retaliated against Israel. These attacks have had dire consequences for civilians, with reports confirming dozens killed and many more wounded.
Moreover, Israeli forces have continued incursions into Syrian territory, including the occupied Golan Heights, Daraa, and Quneitra, in clear violation of international laws and treaties. These actions have caused the forced displacement of Syrian families and prevented farmers from accessing their lands.
While we acknowledge the recent statement issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), these statements fall short of the urgent and decisive action required. The United Kingdom bears a moral and political responsibility to protect civilians and uphold international law.
We therefore call on the British government to take immediate and concrete measures to pressure the Israeli government to cease its repeated aggressions. These provocations are not only illegal under international law, but also constitute a dangerous escalation that threatens the sovereignty of a UN member state and the broader stability of the Middle East.
Failure to act against these violations contributes to the erosion of civil peace and the worsening of the security situation in Syria, while paving the way for further escalation that threatens the security of the entire region. Regional peace and security cannot be achieved without respecting Syria’s sovereignty and ending repeated Israeli military aggression.
The Syrian British Consortium urges the United Kingdom to play a leading role in effectively addressing Israeli attacks, defending the rights of civilians, and working towards a just and lasting peace in Syria and the region.

المجلس السوري البريطاني يدين الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المتكررة على الأراضي السورية
يدين المجلس السوري البريطاني الهجمات الجوية المتواصلة التي تشنها إسرائيل على الأراضي السورية، والتي تمثل انتهاكًا صارخًا للسيادة الوطنية السورية، وتعرّض حياة المدنيين للخطر، وتزيد من زعزعة الاستقرار وتهديد للسلم الأهلي في منطقة تعاني أصلًا من هشاشة أمنية حادة
منذ سقوط نظام الأسد في ديسمبر الماضي، شنت إسرائيل أكثر من 1000 ضربة جوية على مواقع مختلفة في الأراضي السورية، كان آخرها يوم الجمعة، الثاني من مايو، حيث استهدفت الضربات العاصمة دمشق ومحافظتي درعا وحماة، مما أدى إلى مقتل مدني وإصابة عدد من المدنيين بجروح. وعلى الرغم من هذه الانتهاكات المتكررة للسيادة السورية، لم ترد سوريا عسكريًا على إسرائيل ولو لمرة واحدة. وقد أسفرت هذه الهجمات عن عواقب وخيمة على المدنيين، حيث أُفادت التقارير بمقتل العشرات وإصابة العشرات الآخرين
علاوة على ذلك، استمرت القوات الإسرائيلية في التوغل داخل الأراضي السورية، بما في ذلك هضبة الجولان المحتلة، ودرعا، والقنيطرة، في انتهاك واضح للقوانين والمعاهدات الدولية، مما تسبب في نزوح قسري لعائلات سورية، ومنع المزارعين من الوصول إلى أراضيهم
وإذ يُبدي المجلس ملاحظته حول التصريحات الأخيرة الصادرة عن وزارة الخارجية والكومنولث والتنمية البريطانية (FCDO)، فإنه يرى أن هذه التصريحات لا ترقى إلى مستوى الأزمة الحالية، ولا تفي بمسؤوليات المملكة المتحدة الأخلاقية والسياسية في حماية المدنيين والدفاع عن القانون الدولي
إننا نطالب الحكومة البريطانية بالتحرك العاجل والفوري للضغط على الحكومة الإسرائيلية لوقف هذه الاعتداءات المستمرة، والتي تشكّل استفزازًا خطيرًا وتجاوزًا غير مقبول للقانون الدولي ولسيادة دولة عضو في الأمم المتحدة. كما نطالب باتخاذ مواقف واضحة وإجراءات حازمة في المحافل الدولية، بما في ذلك مجلس الأمن، لدعم أمن سوريا وسلامة أراضيها
إن التغاضي عن هذه الانتهاكات يساهم في زعزعة السلم الأهلي وتفاقم الوضع الأمني في سوريا، ويفتح الباب أمام مزيد من التصعيد الذي يهدد الأمن الإقليمي برمّته. إن أمن الشرق الأوسط واستقراره يمرّ حتمًا عبر احترام سيادة سوريا، وإنهاء الأعمال العدوانية المتكررة التي تقوم بها إسرائيل
ويُحَثّ المجلس السوري البريطاني المملكة المتحدة على أن تضطلع بدور ريادي في التصدي الفعّال لهذه الاعتداءات، والدفاع عن حقوق المدنيين، والعمل من أجل إحلال سلام دائم في سوريا والمنطقة
