Dar Justice, represented by Sema Nassar from its investigations team, took part in the 12th Lausanne Platform Meeting with the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism (IIIM), held on 26–27 June 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting was organized by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
The gathering came at a pivotal moment following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, focusing on strengthening collaboration between Syrian civil society and the IIIM to advance Syrian-led transitional justice and accountability efforts.
The two-day workshop included:
- Plenary discussions on the current state of justice and accountability initiatives.
- Breakout sessions addressing documentation challenges and the evolving role of the IIIM in supporting Syrian transitional justice.
- Dialogue on inclusive justice, emphasizing the participation of victims, survivors, and affected communities.
By joining this meeting, Dar Justice reaffirmed its commitment to supporting victims’ rights, enhancing documentation efforts, and contributing to meaningful accountability processes for Syria’s future.
