On 30 July 2024, SBC’s Investigations Team hosted an event in collaboration with Amnesty International titled “Achieving Justice in Syria: Challenges and Opportunities for the UK Government”. The event was held at Amnesty International’s premises in London. Over 100 people attended the event in-person and an additional 220 people attended virtually via Zoom. Dar Justice investigator and OSINT specialist Hussam Kassas organised a two-day training workshop for a group of volunteers on open-source research. Volunteers learned about the basics of cybersecurity and open-source research. The volunteers will begin a project to archive publicly available documentation and organise it to extract potential evidence pertaining to commission of war crimes or crimes against humanity.
