Today, SBC was honoured to participate in the Labour Campaign for International Development (LCID) to address the priorities of the UK’s foreign policies towards Syria. During this event, which was attended by parliamentarians from both houses of Parliament, Mrs Douna Haj Ahmed from SBC discussed several Syria-related policies that need to be adopted by the Labour Party such as: the international mechanisms of accountability towards the human rights violations and war crimes committed by the Syrian regime; and the need for long-term needs-based humanitarian intervention to protect civilians and medical workers. Mrs Douna also stressed that Britain should be actively involved in filling the vacuum in the UN-backed political process and that Britain should never be silent in front of the atrocities committed in Syria on a daily basis. #Lab21
