BBC GLOBAL NEWS: Investigation highlights abuses of students at the height of the Syrian civil war

BBC Radio investigative report aired on 20 June 2024 following the SBC Investigative Team's publication of its report, "Militia on Campus: Crimes of the National Union of Syrian Students at Damascus University". The BBC Radio segment investigates abuses committed by members of the National Union of Syrian Students (NUSS) in Syria. "The NUSS member who inflicted the most harm was considered a good member of the NUSS and would obtain benefits in the future" Through 20 in-depth interviews with former students, professors, and NUSS members, SBC’s investigation reveals the range of crimes committed by the NUSS at the University of Damascus as well as the group’s extensive cooperation and coordination with Syrian State security services.
